About The Job
Mediator is a PR agency focused on one thing: Getting clients organically featured in widely read, watched and listened-to media outlets.
But, as you know, the limited number of journalists who report for and contribute to popular outlets are often busy working on stories assigned by their editors or that they are particularly passionate about.
Thus, to get distracted journalists’ attention, you’ll need to dig deep to unearth newsworthy aspects of clients’ businesses and personal lives, distill what you’ve uncovered into a series of succinct pitches, and share those pitches with hundreds, and often thousands, of writers, producers, correspondents, anchors, and podcast hosts, among others.
The vast majority of journalists we target - and sometimes all of them - ignore our pitches. Consequently, we are looking for someone who is persistent and innovative.
It Helps If
You’re an investigative journalist
You’re a journalist
You’re a writer
You know how to interview people and transcribe what they say nearly word-for-word
You love to talk to people and you’re comfortable asking revealing questions
You’ve built email lists
You’ve worked in PR
You’ve done email marketing and know how to do a mail merge
